Permitted use

You may use the calculator and printable plan for personal or professional planning. You remain responsible for confirming inputs, material dimensions, installation positions, quantities, and costs before purchasing, cutting, or fastening.

Scope and exclusions

The service does not provide structural engineering, building-code interpretation, permits, exterior water management, electrical advice, plumbing advice, or hidden-utility detection. Do not use it as the sole basis for work involving those areas.

Estimates and real conditions

Walls may be out of square or plumb, and material may vary. Required pieces describe the geometry produced by the measurements and selected construction details. Purchase estimates depend on the actual profiles, available stock, kerf, end trimming, spare allowances, and supported joints entered. A valid layout does not guarantee that every stock or installation condition is complete, or that a proposed grouping is the smallest possible order. Defects, grain matching, unmodelled joinery, and fitting to the actual site require separate review.

Saved projects, links, and files

Edited projects are saved in your browser’s IndexedDB storage, with a sessionStorage checkpoint used for recovery during editing. This is local device storage, not an account-based cloud backup or a promise of cross-device synchronization. Check the displayed save status and download a project file to keep a separate copy. Browser restrictions, clearing site data, or storage failure can make local data unavailable.

A current share link carries the selected plan and necessary data; a complete project file includes more of the project, including its name and alternatives. Shared links and imported files open as separate local copies. Only the currently supported link and file formats are accepted. You remain responsible for what you send to others and for keeping copies you need.

The Privacy Policy describes local storage, sharing, file handling, and the site’s configured usage measurement.

Safety

Before nailing, drilling, or cutting, locate wiring, pipes, and other hazards. Follow tool and material instructions and consult a qualified professional when the project exceeds decorative indoor work.

Availability and responsibility

The service is provided on an as-available basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, TrimLayout does not guarantee that an estimate will match every real wall, material, local rule, or installation condition. Mandatory consumer rights in your location are not excluded.
